Health and safety professionals across the waste and recycling industry are invited to join us at ESA’s annual Health and Safety Conference to share and learn what the industry is doing to raise standards and improve performance across a number of H&S priority areas. We are delighted to partner with international law firm, Pinsent Masons, to host this free-to-attend, in-person, event on 1 October at Pinsent Masons’ offices in London.
Our industry and operations undergo constant change as we respond to dynamic regulatory requirements and embrace new technologies. This has introduced varying risk profiles for different waste activities and the challenge we must meet is to ensure that H&S standards keep pace and remain high.
What fundamental changes need to occur to improve workplace health and safety?
What are the practical implications of the recent restrictions on RCV bin lifting equipment?
What steps can be taken to limit the risk and damage of lithium-ion battery fires to our assets?
What more can be done to reduce the risk of harm to vulnerable persons seeking refuge in waste containers?
What are the regulator’s priorities and what is HSE’s take on the task ahead for the industry?
And with all this going on, what exactly is the role of the modern H&S practitioner?
Join us and discover answers to these questions from expert practitioners alongside a wealth of additional information to help you better understand your organisation’s health & safety requirements.
For the afternoon session, Pinsent Masons will offer an insight into the stark reality of attending a coroner’s inquest. This intentionally impactful sessions will adopt a ‘mock’ inquest format – revealing what to expect at an inquest, with a focus on the human-factors and emotional toll on those required to attend.
We look forward to welcoming you to our event. The conference programme is available here and you can register here.
